Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc.
Starting as separate companies serving different geographic areas, Checkers (serving the Southeast) and Rally's (serving the Midwest) merged in August 1999. The Checkers name remains used in the Southeast and the Northeast while the Rally's name remains used in the Midwest and California; the two brands often overlap in several areas while the merged company's headquarters is currently in Tampa, Florida. Most locations specialize in carryout service with drive-thrus and walk-up windows with no indoor seating. However, some legacy Rally's in the Midwest opened before Checkers purchased the chain retain dining rooms.
Falcons Burger, an entity under The Falcons Group umbrella, owns and operates Checkers & Rally’s Drive-in restaurants in Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Indiana. The Group is the largest Checkers/Rally’s franchisee within the brand in less than 2 years of becoming a franchisee. Falcons Burger started the journey within this brand through taking over stores in bankruptcy and turning them around. Moreover, the Group is also in the process of expanding into new markets via new store development and acquisitions.
